Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you use Goodbuy to browse, buy or sell. By creating an account you agree to them. They are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.

1. What Goodbuy is

Goodbuy is a classified marketplace. Sellers list their own items; Goodbuy is not the seller. When you pay through Goodbuy, the payment is held and released to the seller after you confirm you received the item, or after the protection period ends.

2. Accounts

• You must be 18 or older.
• Give accurate details and keep your password private.
• We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

3. Selling

• Only list items you own and are allowed to sell. Describe condition and defects honestly.
• Prohibited: illegal goods, weapons, drugs, stolen or counterfeit items, and anything banned under Nigerian law.
• Goodbuy charges a 2.5% commission on each completed sale. Delivery fees go to the seller.
• Only upload photos you took or have the right to use.

4. Buying and offers

• Buy Now reserves the item for a short time while you pay.
• At checkout the buyer pays a payment processing fee (the card provider's charge, shown before paying). It is not refundable.
• Offers expire if the seller doesn't respond in time. An accepted offer must be paid before it expires.

5. Buyer Protection

Payments made through Goodbuy checkout are held until you confirm receipt. If there's a problem, report it before the protection period ends. Payments made outside Goodbuy are not covered. See the Refund Policy.

6. Reviews

Only buyers who received an order can rate a seller. Fake, paid or misleading reviews are removed.

7. Liability

Goodbuy is not responsible for the quality or legality of items listed by sellers, except as required by law. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Disputes

Contact us first. Unresolved complaints may be taken to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission or the courts of Nigeria.
